A Birthday in the Midst of it All!

Levi is now 12 years old!!! It's unbelieveable to me how quickly time passes and that just a short 12 years ago I held him in arms for the very first time. For those that read my blog and have little ones, don't blink because soon your little ones will be grown up too! Even though I'm feeling a bit nostalgic about Levi growing up, I'm also extremely pround of the young gentleman he is growing up to be. This is Levi's favorite type of cake....and ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. He was especially excited that this year that they have blizzard flavored cakes, and his choice was the Strawberry Cheesequake flavor...YUM! It's been so very hot here the past week that this choice went over pretty well for the whole family. It was a good way to spend the evening...a baseball game, cake with his team-mates, dinner at his favorite Chinese restaurant, and then home for Blizzard cake & his present.

Levi has been learning how to ride a motorbike using an older bike that doesn't run very well, so when Randy "stumbled" across a great buy on this used motorcycle (just like mine!) we thought it would make a great birthday present. Due to it's size, it's kind of hard to wrap :-) so Randy made up a riddle about it's hiding place for Levi to solve. Levi was slowly working through it while eating cake when Jonah blurted out the answer! He didn't know it beforehand, he just solved it a bit quicker. Randy is already working on a riddle for Jonah's birthday in October...watch out, with that much time it's gonna be a hard one! LOL! This picture is of the two boys just after they opened the trailer and found the motorbike, Levi had just rolled it out.

Here's Levi on his new motorbike...his first question, "Dad, are you going to be home tomorrow afternoon?" He knows Mom likes Dad to be home when they go riding around in our field. And just in case you're wondering, yes, he'll be wearing jeans, good shoes, and a helmet!
